A Message About the Veterans
Many went to war leaving their friends, families and even their wives
They fought for their country: they shed their blood so we could go on with our lives
Many died in the field as they faced their enemies face to face
So, we could continue to live our lives; because of them we are safe
Yes! Many have returned home with such hurt, and with loss of body parts
They fought for their country, because we the people were in their hearts
When you see them be sure to say “Thank you for what you did for me
Because of what you did for our country, I am still alive and free”
Many soldiers did not return home; we honor and appreciate them, too
They fought in many battles to protect the freedom for me and you
Thanksgiving is now upon us and to God we want to say,
Without the shedding of His blood, we would not be here today
Yes! We give thanks to the Veterans for what they have done
And we also give thanks to God for receiving us as His daughters and sons
It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of a country in which we love
Thank God for those who will fight to keep it safe; they are a true gift from heaven above
